Aku penggila tetralogi Laskar Pelangi, walaupun sedikit kecewa dengan akhir yang tidak bahagia dan judul yang tidak menggambarkan keseluruhan cerita pada buku keempatnya.  But more than that, Andrea Hirata has blown new spirit in my life about dream.  Everything comes from a dream.  Yup.  Benar! Something funny happened just now. Salah satu temanku nelfon. Jauh-jauh dari Kalimantan. Kirain ada sesuatu yang amat sangat maha pentingnya. Kirain lagi tentang tagihan contoh proposal kegiatan yang dah dua bulan ku janjikan berikut anggarannya. Ternyata bukan! Tebak apa? Ini katanya "buat 1 kg daging, berapa buah kelapa yang harus dijadikan santan? pake kunyit atau tidak? santannya kudu yang kental semua ya? tolong ya....aku mau buat kejutan untuk mertua." Terperangah! Ya eyalah...! Ternyata kemampuannya berdebat dan kepiawaiannya mengerjakan hampir semua kegiatan dan penelitian tidak mampu membuat sang mertua terkagum-kagum. Tetap, temanku itu harus menunjukkan kemampuannya di dapur. Dan aku balas sms-nya..."sabar, aku tanya ibu ku dulu." Hahahahaha! Lengkap sudah! I've just read two wonderful poems from my friends' blog, Petrus and Mbak Icha. Wonderful! They're great! Ternyata... we do not have to be Shakespeare, William Blake, and Emily Bronte to write poems.

Before watching An Inconvenient Truth, I never concerned about Global Warming which has become the crucial issue nowadays. I read a lot about it from newspapers and articles in the internet but it just come to my mind and never been processed into why, how, and what to do. But now? The movie made me speechless. It is horrible. The earth is getting hotter, disaster like hurricanes, droughts, and floads are getting more frequent. In the last two years or more I begin to realize that the problems caused by global warming increase. It is not only about disasters but also about the change of season which completely affects the life of farmers and fishermen in general. I read Kompas this morning. The deadline is about the fishermen who could not go to trawl fish to the sea because of the unpredictable wind direction. They said that wind direction was not same like some years ago. It has changed. They cannot do anything but bind themselves in bad debt given by usurer and do not know

This is the place where my forfather was born. This is the lake which has given its water to flow in my body. I named it ‘heaven’ because I cannot find the precise name to attach to it but heaven. It is Lake Maninjau. The place where you can find a peace which is brought by the rustling of the wind from the top of the hills, feel the fragrant of pines come freely into your lungs, and fondle your eyes with its scenic beauty outspread around you. Maninjau is a place to relax where you can free youself from tiring activity. It is a prominent tourist destination in West Sumatra. Lake Maninjau is located between Bukittinggi and Lubuk Basung. It is only about 2.5 hours to get there from Padang. So which one is better? Go there through Bukittinggi or Lubuk Basung. There would be much scenic beauty you can see during the trip to Lake Maninjau from Bukittingi. Hills, rice fields, traditional houses, valleys, mountains, and waterfalls are beauty that you will see when you choose P

Well, these guys are my new family now. I feel great meeting them everyday. January 26 was the first day we met. We come from different provinces in Indonesia but have the same goal. Making our dream come true!

I watched The Curious Case of Benjamin Button last Saturday and keep thinking about it till now. It is about a man who was born in unsual condition long time ago at world war I. He was born in weird body. He's just like an 80 years old baby. And the worst, the time went backward for him. I just could not imagine if it were real. It means that somebody has to live confronting the stream. But the movie has given several lessons to me. Firstly, Be happy with the way you are. Everybody has different destiny and needs different way to life with it. Secondly, you are the decision maker in your life so that you are the only one who knows how to achieve your dream. Sometimes you need someone to help you, but it does not mean that she/he can overtake the control of yourself. So..?? Be happy with your life!
